Associate Commercial Manager

Location: Remote– UK Wide
Salary: £45,000 to £48,000 (DOE) + Benefits including 20% Bonus

The Role:
Our client is looking to hire an Associate Commercial Manager. This role is responsible for the commercial & legal management of the business unit’s Sales, Procurement and Contract Management activities including bids, prospects and tenders, and the commercial contribution to successful project delivery, ensuring retained and enhanced profitability, mitigation of risk, and successful management of potential disputes to the business units’ favour. The role holder will be the first point of contact and key advisor on contractual and legal matters. The focus will be supporting the business to execute effective agreements from initial sales lead to final contract signature stage.
They are happy to consider Graduates with 1 or 2 years of relevant experience in commercial management. Graduates from Legal background are welcome to apply. The role offers fully remote working and exciting opportunities to learn and grow within the business.

You will be responsible for:

  • Regular contact with senior stakeholders within the business
  • Supporting the business with effective administration of contracts including the provision of contractual templates and tool kits.
  • Managing and interpreting complex contracts whilst resolving disputes
  • Assessing the risk associated with contracting under government / other frameworks and determining the more effective contracting route.
  • Mitigating and resolving disputes to fully address concerns whilst protecting their commercial position.
  • Supporting the business with obligation tracking of contracts to minimise risk and ensure that options for relief are highlighted to director colleagues.
  • Promoting commercial awareness in all colleagues at a level appropriate to their role and experience.
  • Reporting regularly to the Commercial Director on the progress of assigned matters and your capacity and support requirements generally.

You will have experience in:

  • Sales side commercial and legal experience.
  • Software Contracting & Licensing
  • Contract Law
  • Cost Modelling
  • Risk Management
  • Reviewing and interpreting complex contracts and supporting the business on matters of contractual interpretation and regarding contractual disputes and claims.
  • Realigning own workload to meet competing business priorities.
  • Drafting, negotiating and concluding agreements from sales lead to contract signature.
  • Face to face negotiations with client’s legal and commercial teams.
  • Working autonomously and taking own initiative on matters.
  • Suggesting alternative approaches on complex legal and commercial issues to business MD’s to facilitate sales.
  • Advising on disputes and contract management issues.
  • Comfortable with working without reference to a Legal Team and make decisions on legal and commercial issues.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills
  • Ability to the use the suite of Office products eg: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
