The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be an experienced security professional, with a strong foundation in general information security knowledge, and an expert in performing manual penetration testing assessments, and security audits. This role requires an industry expert with relevant hands-on security experience, including Consulting. Essentially we are looking for an ‘Ethical Hacker’, ideally with proven experience in Mobile, IoT and Telecommunication systems, networking, and/or cloud Security. You will be able to perform thorough assessments while following a project’s rules of engagement and SecurityLab’s internal policies to minimise risks to the client and its customers. You will have a Strong understanding of network and security concepts, and have extensive experience testing and securing cloud and cloud-native services, and container technologies.

Duties:

  • Performing manual security assessment of key elements of modern telecommunication systems, and network infrastructure, such as PBX, VOIP, VPN, wired and wireless, BLE, PLC, NFC, RFID, Z-WAVE, Zigbee, GPS, LoRaWAN, 3G/4G/5G, IoT communication, cloud and cloud-native components, container orchestration technologies etc. security assessments and delivering results to clients.
  • Performing cybersecurity audits.
  • Liaising with customers directly during the course of assessments and support the troubleshooting of issues.
  • Becoming an active part of R&D projects aimed at developing cybersecurity solutions for telecoms (not limited to).
  • Ensuring the highest quality of deliverables (reports and recommendations).
  • Assisting with the development of automated tools and scripts by using programming skills.
  • Providing mentoring support and guidance to team members on-demand, aiming to help grow skills and team capabilities.
  • Sharing knowledge about key technologies, tools, and testing methodologies internally with peers.

Requirements:

  • Experienced security professional, with a strong foundation of general information security knowledge.
  • Expert practitioner in performing manual penetration testing assessments and security audits.
  • Ethical Hacker Certification / Proven experience in this arena required.
  • Industry expert with 5+ years of relevant hands-on security experience (including consulting experience).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering will be beneficial (not mandatory).
  • Minimum 5+ years of overall experience working in Mobile, IoT and Telecommunication systems, networking, and/or cloud Security.
  • The candidate must be able to perform thorough assessments while following a project’s rules of engagement and SecurityLab’s internal policies to minimise risks to the client and its customers.
  • Strong understanding of network and security concepts, including TCP/IP protocol stack, HTTP, HTTP/2, PKI, SSL, TLS, DTLS, mutual TLS, authentication, authorisation, etc.
  • Extensive experience testing and securing cloud and cloud-native services, container technologies such as Docker, and Kubernetes/Kubernetes distributions (OpenShift, AWS EKS, GKE, etc.), hardening, and testing Docker containers.
  • Practical knowledge of Kubernetes networking, monitoring, and logging solutions.
  • Experienced in platform hardening, access management, certificate management, network security and operating system security.
  • Experience in executing APIs, Network, System Penetration tests
