Salary: £75,000 to £80,000 (DOE) + Benefits including Car Allowance

The Role:
As a Principal Consultant Workplace Platforms, you will deliver both pre and post sales technical consultancy to their customers, leading teams of consultants in delivery/implementation engagements. This includes the design, implementation and configuration of complex, large scale Windows based solutions. In addition, you will also provide pre-sales support to internal and external customers in defining complex technical solutions.
As a senior team member, you will have the responsibility for providing technical leadership to the team and providing guidance to internal and external customers in defining complex technical strategies with leading edge technologies. It is predominately a client-facing role, you need proven skills in a customer facing position, designing and implementing Microsoft desktop and deployment technologies to corporate or public sector organisations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the creation of technical pre-sales responses and owning the creation of costs
  • Inputting into business case development
  • Negotiating with customers
  • Hosting customer opportunity / strategy meetings, including presenting solutions from a commercial and business perspective
  • Providing technical governance of in-flight projects
  • Quality assure deliverables produced by team members to ensure consistency and accuracy within a single technology solution.
  • Leading the design and implementation of complex technical solutions
  • Supporting infrastructure technologies
  • Supporting sensitive customer issues at a senior level
  • Undertaking individual consultancy assignments, analysing customer requirements, gathering and analysing data, recommending solutions
  • Ensuring consultancy assignments are undertaken consistently and with quality, using Prince2 and Agile methodologies
  • Highlighting all technical risks ensuring that business’s exposure to commercial loss can be minimised
  • Keeping up to date with current and future market developments, competitors, technologies, products and strategies
  • Keeping certificates up to date and gain additional certificates determined by the business’s priorities
  • Producing/updating all assignment documentation
  • Building and developing relationships with key stakeholders across business
  • Building and enhancing relationships with peers and business’s sales force (Account Managers, Client Directors, Sales Specialists)
  • Developing relationships with partners and vendors to enhance opportunities and capabilities for the business

You will have experience in:

  • Leadership of solution design and costing
  • Architecture methodologies e.g. TOGAF
  • Detailed product knowledge of the following technologies –
  • Desktop deployment experience – enterprise deployments of Windows
  • Desktop configuration experience (ADK, MDT, creation of Task Sequences,)
  • Deployment Toolset(s) – System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune
  • Desktop productivity suite configuration and deployment
  • Desktop security products knowledge – BitLocker and Microsoft Defender Suite
  • Directory and Network Services – creation of group policy objects for desktop operating systems
  • Scripting – PowerShell / VBScript
  • Microsoft Desktop Optimisation Pack (MDOP) – App-V / MBAM
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • Knowledge of at least 3 of the desired skills
