The Candidate:
The successful candidate will come from a Project Management Background, ideally having worked within the High Tech or Electronic Engineering Sector previously. New product introduction experience is essential, alongside hands-on experience of working within a structured product development environment that includes Requirements Analysis/Definition, Design/Implementation, Defect Tracking, and Testing. A good understanding of both Windows and Linux-based operating systems architecture and how to optimize for performance and real time systems is essential.

The Role:
This key leadership role is responsible for leading, managing and coordinating the resources and processes assigned to various multi-functional/multi-disciplined technical projects (Hardware & Software).

Key Duties:

  • Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Coordinating resource estimates and tracking resource utilisation.
  • Effectively applying the companies ISO accredited Product Realisation Process (PRP).
  • Preparation for Gate reviews and project escalations.
  • Evaluating project change requests in a timely manner and driving to a decision.
  • Ensuring project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
  • Tracking and reporting team hours and schedule progress – typically on a weekly basis.
  • Providing input into the Program Management Dashboard.
  • Leading project-planning efforts, including scoping and level of effort assessments.
  • Working closely with Project Technical Leads.
  • Appreciation and interest in core business focus and new engagements.

Requirements:

  • Honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
  • PMP, Prince 2, or similar project management qualification.
  • Demonstrable Team Leadership and/or Program Management experience
  • New Product Introduction experience.
  • Product development lifecycle experience.
  • Effectively applies the organisations ISO accredited Product Realisation Process (PRP), together with an understanding of Technology Readiness Levels.
  • Hands-on experience in working within a structured product development environment that includes Requirements Analysis/Definition, Design/Implementation, Defect Tracking and Testing.
  • Good understanding of Windows and Linux based operating systems architecture, how to optimize for performance and real time systems.
  • Ability to obtain a clear agreement on milestones and on other specific measurements of success.
  • Can analyse and prioritize information and provide solutions.
  • Can focus on both short- and long-term priorities.
  • Can ensure existing plans are delivered in a responsible and sustainable way.
  • Takes ownership and engages around challenging issues.
  • Pushes the boundaries to find new ways to get results.
  • Varies communication approaches to reach different audiences.
